Webinar: Minnesota Power, Equity and Public Health
The investments that utilities make in energy infrastructure, including coal and gas plants, have significant impacts on public health, environmental justice, equity, and more. Everyone in Minnesota should have the opportunity to understand these impacts.
Join this webinar as we dive into the data behind a first-of-its-kind study in Minnesota that evaluated public health and equity impacts of Minnesota Power’s long-range plan. For justice to advance, how we regular public utilities need to be measured, analyzed, and put into context. This study is the first to try to specifically do that within the purview of the state’s Public Utilities Commission. It hopefully sets a new standard for how we examine the costs and benefits of energy in Minnesota.
The roundtable will include Bret Pence from Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light along with representatives from Fresh Energy, MCEA, Sierra Club, Union of Concerned Scientists, and researchers from PSE Healthy Energy.
