Calling young people! Join us for Youth N’ Power Camp

My name is Analyah, and I am MNIPL’s Youth Program and Interfaith Garden Coordinator! I have recently joined the wonderful team at Interfaith Power and Light, and with nearly 10 years of working with youth under my belt, I am beyond ecstatic to be working on a few upcoming projects that might be of interest to you.

We are excited to roll out the brand-new Youth N’Power Camp! Learn more and register for the camp here.

The Youth N’Power Summer Camp is a three week intensive Environmental Justice camp where we will engage young people to become champions of climate solutions such as solar and energy efficiency. During our time together we will venture out into the community and visit solar job sites, wind turbines, recycling facilities and more. We’ll build a solar village, role play what it takes to build a solar company, and learn all about what it takes to do an energy assessment of someone’s home or business. We’ll focus on leadership, job readiness, energy systems, communication, policy advocacy, and entrepreneurial tactics, all the white cultivating the kind of community our youth envision for the future.

Where: Camp will be hosted at my old stomping grounds: Redeemer Center for Life, located at 350 Logan Ave. N. Minneapolis, MN, 55405.

When:We will meet Monday-Friday from 9 AM-2 PM. Camp will run July 1-19 (excluding 7/4, 7/5).

Who: We are specifically looking to invite young people in grades 5-7 to participate in our camp track; and grades 8-12 to help to facilitate camp in more intensive leadership positions. If you have any youth in mind that you think would be interested, send me an email or fill out our registration form.
