POSTPONED: Ed Owens People’s Movement Assembly

Hello friends – the Ed Owens People’s Movement Assembly has been postponed due to impending ice and snow.

Please register and we’ll let you know the confirmed date ASAP. Tentative date Saturday, May 11th.

As you may know, MNIPL staff member Ed Owens passed away last summer. Ed was the Criminal Justice and the Environmental Justice chair of the NAACP in St. Paul, worked with Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light and with the Just Solar Coalition, and was a student at Metro State in the MAPL program.

We invite you to honor Ed’s work and come together as a community to hear about two intersecting bodies of work (Restore the Vote and Just Solar) that were at the heart of what Ed believed in. We would also love for you to join us for the grand opening of our new climate hub next week! See details below.

Ed Owens People’s Movement Assembly

Speakers, storytellers, artists and musicians will help us understand the structures of oppression that divide us and then we’ll come together to explore a variety of solutions.
