Tar Sands Resistance March!

On Saturday the 6th of June we were privledged to stand in unity with thousands of people in the streets, walking together, singing, chanting, dancing, calling for a truly just and sustainable world. That's what the streets of St Paul looked like on June 6th at teh Tar Sands Resistance March.

It was an increidble day of beautiful resistance, with 400 people of faith joining more than 5,000 conerned citizens from across the Midwest standing together to stop tar sands and protect our future.

Rev. Emily Goldthwaite Fries represented the faith communtiy and gave an opening prayer which you can watch here, and read here. Louis Alemayehu shared "All the Earth is Holy". Before the march, MNIPL board members Teddie Potter, Cathy Velasquez Eberhart, Ruhel Islam wrote blog posts about why they were marching (you can read each by clicking on their name).

Check out more pictures from our beautiful day together and stay tuned for more, this is just the beginning of new chapter, a beautiful resistance against tar sands.
