Emergency Rally: Stand with Standing Rock
Yesterday, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department Special Operations Units were deployed to Standing Rock Reservation to aid in the repression of Water Protectors who are peacefully standing up to the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The people of Standing Rock, and the more than 200 Indigenous Tribes standing in solidarity, need us now more than ever. We refuse to be complicit in the violence against our Native brothers and sisters as they protect their land.
Join us tomorrow at noon for an Emergency Rally to call for Hennepin County to withdraw their forces from North Dakota. We will gather outside the Hennepin County Government Plaza on the steps by the light rail. After a time of prayer, song, and speakers, we will then head inside to deliver the petitions.

Hennepin County has no right to deploy our resources at the service of unjust and violent suppression of our Native brothers and sisters.
Are you a Faith Leader? Please sign on to our Faith Leader letter here to Sheriff Stanek and the County Commissioners. If you are not a Faith Leader, please share the letter with the leader of your Faith Community. If you are a person of faith or a community member, sign our petition here. We will deliver your signatures to Sheriff Stanek at the rally.
Together we pray for the protectors, for our water, for life, for our children, for the future.
