LTE from Rev. Susan Mullin

I support the US EPA effort to reduce carbon emissions from U.S. power plants. As a Professional Geologist, I understand that we have a rapidly closing window of opportunity to stabilize the climate by reducing our emissions of carbon dioxide. As a religious leader, I believe we have a moral imperative to act on behalf of those who are most vulnerable to global warming; the very young, the old, those who are poor, and future generations. Climate scientists tell us that carbon dioxide persists for a long time in our atmosphere and oceans. Our actions over the next decade will determine the trajectory of global warming for centuries. Not acting to reduce our carbon emissions? That would be sinful.
