Green Climate Fund
From the low-lying Bangladesh to famine-stricken East Africa, the world’s poor are bearing the brunt of climate impacts. As Minnesotans our families or the families of our neighbors are impacted every day. As people of faith, we are obliged to advocate for those whose lives and livelihoods are threatened. We are allies in their fight for the resources they need to adapt to climate change. Take action now!
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was conceived in 2009 to help poor and vulnerable countries adapt to the unavoidable impacts of climate change and build more resilient societies. President Obama has pledged $3 billion from the U.S., and requested the first installment of $500 million in this year’s budget. To maintain U.S. leadership in addressing the global climate challenge, and move us towards a successful resolution at the climate talks in Paris, Congress must approve this request.
Tell your members of Congress: $500 million for the Green Climate Fund is essential to combating global warming online.
