Beyond Paris: Practical Action as Spiritual Practice

We always knew the Paris Climate Agreement would not be enough to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius.  Now that the Trump Administration has announced their intent to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, it’s even more important that we build climate justice in our communities. What we need is no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. This is where we come in, it’s our job to close that gap. MNIPL has designed a Beyond Paris Campaign to encourage practical changes that are effective and empowering! We hope you'll join us!

In keeping with MNIPL’s three-legged stool approach, we are helping individuals take practical action to lower their carbon footprints by fostering a community that meets to calculate their carbon footprints, explore solutions, share best practices, and reflect on how practical action to reduce our carbon footprints can be seen as a spiritual practice.

The Beyond Paris Pledge affirms our strong commitment to a safe and stable climate in which temperature rise is limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius. We will do this by taking concrete steps now, both individually and cooperatively, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to a safe level, build resilience, and create a just and equitable economy.
