June Newsletter

As you’ve likely heard, the Trump Administration has pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

This is a moral failure, and, we know that our role is to continue to work tirelessly for a just and livable climate for all. We’re still with Paris, and we’ll live out the commitments of the Paris Climate Agreement in our homes, congregations, communities, and beyond.

Every day we have the opportunity to build the world we want to live in.  That feels more important now than ever during this sacred time of Ramadan, a month of fasting and reflection in the Muslim tradition. We wish Ramadan Mubarak, blessed Ramadan, to our Muslim neighbors, and invite each of you into important opportunities to be in solidarity with our Muslim friends and live into our calling to be an authentically interfaith community.

Break Fast at Interfaith Iftar June 10th 8:45pm, Cedar Cultural Center

We invite you to join us for  a community Iftar, to break bread with our Muslim brothers and sisters and enjoy conversation, connection, and festive celebration. Our evening together will begin at sunset with a wonderful and poetic call to prayer (Adhan) from the roof of the Cedar Cultural Center. We are also looking for volunteers, click here to sign up.

Show your support During this sacred time of fasting, we wish our Muslim neighbors “Ramadan Mubarak” a blessed and generous Ramadan. Together we can practice hospitality and support our Muslim neighbors by proudly displaying Ramadan Mubarak lawn signs at our homes and faith community. We have a limited number of signs available: To buy a lawn sign, click here!

During this sacred month, we hope you will live out our call to work at the intersections of climate justice and interfaith cooperation. Read on for powerful opportunities to bring to your faith community to do just that.
