People's Climate Minnesota Meet-up 

September 21 1-4pm 

As thousands gather in New York City and around the world for the People's Climate March, we will gather in solidarity at Como Park in Saint Paul. Join us on Sunday, September 21 from 1-4 p.m. for a festive, informative, hopeful event.

Event Schedule

1:00 p.m. Gathering, music, art activities, circle dancing, information tables

2:00 p.m. Program with speakers, music, inspirational readings, live call from the New York City March

3:00 p.m. Group Walk around Como Lake

We are meeting just south of the Como Park Pavilion. Parking should be plentiful.

The event is outdoors with canopies in case of rain. Coordinated by (working to close the gap between the world we have and the world most people want) and Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light

September 21 1:30-2:30pm People’s Climate Hike Duluth. Join in fellowship with others around the world who are standing up for our planet. We'll participate in a uniquely Duluth way, with a hike! We will hike and we will celebrate creation together with our prayers and hopes. Join us at Kingsbury Creek Trailhead and please bring family and friends to support our climate teamwork. September 18 9-8pm Lets Build the Movement Come hear what delegates from Center for Earth Energy and Democracy learned about Climate Justice activism from all around the country.  What can we do in the Twin Cities to act in solidarity with the national Climate Justice movement?  What do we need to do to build a Climate Justice Campaign locally?

September 19 8:00-9:00am People's Climate March Send-Off!  Join us to send the first 200 People's Climate marchers off in celebratory style!  A rally with a few stirring speeches, rousing music and lots of warm wishes. Midtown Farmer's Market, 2225 E Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55407.

September 21 4-6pm Film, Dialogue and Prayer on Climate Change. The Saint Paul Interfaith Network (SPIN invites you learn, dialogue and pray about this important issue. We will gather to view the film Disruption (52 min.). We will join in dialogue about our reactions to the film and our thoughts, feelings, and intentions about climate change. We will offer prayers from our various traditions, including prayers by Dakota elder, pipe-carrier and Healing Minnesota Stories volunteer, Bob Klanderud. Join us at 4pm at the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches, 1671 Summit Ave., St. Paul. The event is free and open to all!

September 21st at 1:30-5:30pm Relating Wisely to Climate ChangeTransforming the strengths of our personal practice into groundwork for a resilient response. We’ll explore ways  mindfulness empowers us to face directly into the emotions that come with the challenges of climate change. Drawing on teachings of Joanna Macy and Thich Nhat Hanh, Kaia Svien leads us through talks, guided meditations and interactions, movement, and small and large group discussions.
