MNIPL travels to Bangladesh

Ruhel Islam, owner of Gandhi Mahal Restaurant, and host of carbon tithing program: Communities in Climate Action led a recent MNIPL delegation to his  home country of Bangladesh Traveling with him was Louis Alemayehu, long time community artist and activist.

While in Bangladesh the delegation interviewed rural residents and religious leaders from two different regions in Bangladesh.  They used the same "Climate Conversation" format that we are using in Minnesota, asking the questions:  "What do you know about Climate Change?  How does it make you Feel?  How is your community called to take action at this moment in history?"  They will also ask: "How are you experiencing the impacts of climate change today?"

See photos from Ruhel and Louis' trip to Bangladesh here!

The delegation visited schools in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh, and has created a partnership between a school for girls in Sylhet and youth from the Kitty Anderson Youth Science Center at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

Below you can see a gathering of elders in their Minnesotans for Climate action shirts!  We are excited to have a Bangladesh sister chapter of MNIPL in Moulvibazar.
